What to do in Newcastle if you only have 1 Hour!

If you only have 1 hour in Newcastle, here is what you should do!

Newcastle upon Tyne is one of the most renowned cities in the country for many reasons, most notably its culture, architecture and welcoming atmosphere.⁣⁣

But if you have not yet been here and could have had an hour to explore, then we recommend ROAMING… ⁣⁣

⁣⁣The Quayside.⁣⁣

Arguably the most picturesque location in Newcastle, the Quayside is one of the city’s most bustling areas. Packed with restaurants, bars, and cultural hotspots, you’ll definitely want to head here, especially if it’s sunny.

Two highlights we recommend include:⁣⁣

  1. Visiting the Baltic, which is a contemporary art venue, free of charge with great contemporary art on exhibition. It is on the south side of the River Tyne and if you go onto floor 4, there is a great viewing platform over the River Tyne, we would suggest to try and get there when the millennium bridge is up, a unique view from up high!
  2. ⁣⁣One of our favourites is to go to the quayside markets on a Sunday. They are open from 10am-4pm. A great little place to find all the local producers come together in one place.
