Andaman Islands

The Andaman Islands, an archipelago of 300 islands in the Bay of Bengal, are known by few. But with palm-lined, powder beaches and tropical rainforests, we don’t know how these blissful islands haven’t been inundated with tourists!

We recommend visiting Havelock Island, known for its beach resorts and watersports. Travellers can rent a glass bottomed boat and witness tropical schools of fish, or those seeking a close-up experience may want to get into the water themselves!

Coral reefs supporting marine life make for fascinating underwater encounters - perfect for diving and snorkelling, whether you are a complete beginner or professional.

For those who prefer land-based activities, travellers may embark on a jungle trek and see some of the islands most fascinating creatures.

Where to Stay: Barefoot at Havelock, situated right next to the beach, is an unpretentious hideaway where guests will feel relaxed and peaceful. The hotel prides itself on its minimal environmental footprint, so guests can expect basic comforts, but it absolutely needs to be experienced if you find yourself visiting Havelock Island.

Gold Coast, Australia

With 33 miles of unbroken coastline, Gold Coast is a buzzing city dedicated to sun, sea and surf. There are a number of activities to do in this city, whether you are a solo traveller or a family seeking an adventure.

Renowned Surfer’s Paradise is a must-see, which is known for its high-rise skyline and impressive beach. There is a popular market which takes place several times a week which should be experienced, if you have the opportunity. The breaktaking Q1 building, where the SkyPoint observation deck is located, offers panoramic views of the ocean and city.

Gold Coast is also home to popular theme parks such as Dreamworld, Seaworld and Wet’n’Wild - perfect for those looking for an action-packed, adrenaline inducing day out!

Further inland, travellers may want to explore the hiking trails across Lamington National Park’s mountain ridges, which are home to rare birds and rainforest.

Where to Stay: Meriton Suites Broadbeach offer luxurious suites with balconies. Both conveniently located and with amazing views of the beach, these suites allow guests to experience fun, comfort and luxury. There are excellent facilities including indoor and outdoor pools, a spa, sauna and fully-equipped gym.

Steamboat, Colorado, United States

Steamboat is Colorado’s premier family-friendly ski resort - however, it can be enjoyed all year round thanks to its various amenities.

During the Winter there are almost 3000 skiable acres, which explains why the town is home to more Winter Olympians than any other place in the US! It’s recently opened a rollercoaster on its slopes, which descends more than 120m on 1800m of track. It’s twists and turns are certainly not for the faint-hearted!

The town is also home to hot springs - perfect for soaking sore muscles after a long day on the slopes. Travellers can relax in one of eight mineral pools located at Old Town Hot Springs, which is also equipped with two water slides and a fitness centre.

In the Summer months, travellers may want to explore the enchanting forests on horseback to experience the area’s ranching heritage, or perhaps even take to the skies and witness fantastic panoramic views in a hot air balloon!

Where to Stay: Trappeur’s Crossing Resort & Spa has six lodges with four pools, 10 hot tubs, a tennis court and fitness centre — all just a short walk or winter shuttle ride to Steamboat Resort’s pristine ski runs!
