Los Angeles, or the City of Angels, is one of the world’s most famous cities, know for attracting tourists from across the globe. With year-round sunshine and balmy temperatures, it certainly deserves its angelic name.

What to Do:

From museums to theme parks, there truly is something for everybody in this city.

“The happiest place on earth” AKA Disneyland is a must-visit if you’re visiting the city with children (or if you’re still a child at heart!). With the most popular Disney characters round every corner and Hollywood-themed attractions, it’s sure to be a fun day out.

There’s so much coastline to explore here, from the beautiful shores of Malibu to the South Bay. You’ll find locals keeping fit by rollerblading along the beachfront, practising yoga or even lifting weights on Venice Beach. There are also plenty of unspoilt havens along the coast where you will be uninterrupted and can truly relax.

After a day at the beach, you could head to Santa Monica pier and play dozens of games and enjoy cotton candy or ice cream. We’d recommend dropping in later afternoon to experience the dazzling sunset.

Hollywood’s Walk of Fame is a popular and iconic attraction, where you can spot the names of more than 2,600 well-loved stars along the Hollywood Boulevard. It draws in over an impressive 10 million visitors each year!

If you’re looking to splash the cash, head to Rodeo Drive and browse the designer shops. Keep your eyes peeled for A-listers! Affordable shops and restaurants are dotted amongst the iconic boutiques, too.

Where to Eat:

The food scene in Los Angeles is incredibly vast, but you can’t visit the city without enjoying some classic American cuisine. Comforting and hearty dishes are served at their finest in many restaurants across the city - we challenge you to find the best burger!

Apple Pan has been serving food to locals since 1947, and there’s a reason why it’s still so popular today. Their burgers are simply out of this world! The legendary Hickroy Burger is slathered in a secret sauce that complements the beef divinely. Finish with a slice of apple pie, and you’ll be more than satisfied!

Thai food is becoming increasingly popular in Los Angeles, with locals enjoying rich curries and spicy noodles. Sri Siam Cafe is one the city’s best Thai eateries with a delicious menu ranging from khao soi to crispy trout.

Where to Drink:

Whether you just want to enjoy a relaxed glass of champagne by the beach, or want to dance into the early hours in a nightclub - Los Angeles has it all.

In downtown Los Angeles, you’ll find a wide selection of renowned clubs including LA Live and The Reserve, as well as plenty of bars to enjoy a refreshing, tasty cocktail.

Where to Stay:

The Hollywood Roosevelt is a landmark hotel situated close to the best restaurants, bars and nightclubs in the city. Behind the plain facade lies an exquisite interior - if it was good enough for Marilyn Monroe, it’s good enough for us! Doubles start from £225 per night.

The InterContinental Downtown is the tallest building west of Chicago and boasts incredible panoramic views from its rooms. With high-end restaurants and an impressive rooftop bar on the 71st floor, you’re sure to be blown away (not literally!). Doubles from £174 per night.
